WE MUST BE AS LITTLE CHILDREN

By Elder Gladwin Gingerich

Little Children-450X300

In the Bible Jesus talked about children on many occasions.

Matt. 18:3 says “Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven.” Matt. 18:6 says “Whoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Children are not able to protect themselves or provide for themselves. They are dependent on their parents, and without them they would not be able to survive. Just as parents protect and provide for their children, Christ wants us to depend on him for our needs. We are to have a childlike faith. When we try to do things on our own, we are not exercising our faith as children of God.

Mark 10:14-15 says “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” In order for us to enter the kingdom of Heaven, we need to accept the gift of salvation that God has provided for us.
