A Disciplined Life!
This week we have started the dreaded task of potty training! As awful as it is it is an important part of a kid’s development. It is a time when they become a little more independent and get a sense of accomplishment. For us as Christians we also go through things that we do not enjoy. We sometimes make excuses or try to argue with God in hopes that he will change his mind. Going through them however helps develop us more into who God created us to be.
Exodus 4:10–13 (NLT): But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.
Even When God directly spoke to Mosses, he was not looking forward to following through with what God was asking. He even argued with God and begged him to send someone else! Mosses eventually did what God had asked and I think we all know all the miracles God did through him and all the people they saved because of them. I just want to encourage and challenge you to not only listen for God's calling but also be open and obedient to God when he does. You will do things and experience things that you never would have thought possible before.
