n Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah recounts the terrifying experience of seeing the Lord seated upon his throne in the temple. His reaction to seeing this great sight was similar to what many of ours’ might be, “It’s all over! I am doomed for I am a sinful man… Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” After Isaiah’s sins were announced forgiven the Lord asked, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?” Immediately Isaiah uttered these now famous words, “Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:1-8)
Just as He forgave Isaiah, God has also forgiven us of so much. And He is still calling for messengers to spread His message. Are we as quick as Isaiah to recognize the magnitude of that forgiveness and immediately respond as he did. Or do we join the millions of pseudo-Christians saying, “Here I am. Send him (or her)”? I pray that you will have the opportunity during this quarantine to seek out God’s mission for the world and truly tell Him, “Here I am. Send ME!” And then, listen to His directives and obey.
