Monday we put a lot of our garden in. I love this time of year. Springtime brings forth new life. Everywhere we look there is new life coming forth! Grass is turning green and gardens are drying off and soon will be planted and sprouting forth its shoots. Birds are chirping with song and the sun rays are so refreshing and warmer.
It will not be long and we will see the farmers out in their fields planting a crop with the hopes of a great harvest in the fall. The bible talks about the farmer, his seeds and the hopes of a good harvest, Matt 13:3-9, 18-23. The seed is the word of God, the different soils it is talking about represents the different types of hearts. God is looking for hearts that are workable and pliable.
As God’s word penetrates our hearts and spirits it begins to bring forth fruit. As the word is sown in our hearts (soil) the Holy Spirit begins to reveal the word and gets the seed (God’s Word) to grow within us. It then begins to produce the fruit that the world is in such need of. The fruit of the Spirit! Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
