They That Wait!

By Pastor Steve

Psalm-31 24-450X300

Did you ever have to wait? Waiting in line at the grocery store, pharmacy, and fast-food? Or maybe just waiting on someone to arrive for an appointment of some kind. On occasion we wait in the waiting room of a hospital; waiting for news of a loved one who is having a procedure done. Today we have to wait in lines with the six foot rule.

Waiting tends to drive the human a little impatient. Impatience causes irritation. According to www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325564 Irritability is a common emotion. Many factors can cause or contribute to irritability, including life stress, a lack of sleep, low blood sugar levels, and hormonal changes. Extreme irritability, or feeling irritable for an extended period, can sometimes indicate an underlying condition, such as an infection or diabetes.

There is a different kind of waiting. Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)  but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

To wait for the Lord means to hope in someone, in this cause or hope is in the Lord. It also means to expect something. Ephesians 3:20 (ESV) Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, So as we wait on the Lord he will do abundantly more then we can imagine.

Psalm 31:24 (ESV) Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
