For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25 (ESV)
Joni Eareckson Tada wrote, “Wisdom is trusting God, not asking ‘Why, God?’. Throughout her lifetime one could argue that Joni has many reasons to ask “Why, God?”, but God has reminded her that she needs to trust God and His ways, not her ways. Joni has overcome a diving accident that left her a quadriplegic, overcome many health challenges due to her accident, and even beaten cancer in the last few years. Just one of those challenges would likely cause many to question God.
Throughout our lives, and maybe even several times this year many of us have questioned events that happened in our lives or the lives of those we love. Sometimes God closes doors that we simply don’t understand at the time. Sometimes we go through periods of great suffering and loss. Sometimes we go through confusing and frustrating times like this year has been for many people around the world. But God, in His great and infinite wisdom has a perfect plan, and one day we will understand the events of our lives where we might’ve asked, “Why, God?”. Joni also wrote the following, “We will stand amazed to see the top side of the tapestry and how God beautifully embroidered each circumstance into a pattern for our good and His glory.” Let’s encourage one another to remember that the wisdom of God is far greater than our human minds can comprehend, but that God surely does have a plan for our good and His glory.
